Argentina announces new temporary residence permits for digital nomads

On May 10, the Argentine Government announced the creation of a new transitory residence permit for digital nomads. Effective May 21, individuals who do not require a visa to enter Argentina (i.e., visa-exempt nationals) will be eligible to apply for the Digital Nomad permit. Successful applicants will be issued a permit that is valid for an initial period of up to 180 days. These individuals will be allowed to apply to extend their permit once for the same duration provided they are physically present in Argentina for at least 50% of the validity period of their initial permit. Individuals who require a visa to enter Argentina (i.e., visa nationals) are not eligible to apply for Digital Nomad permits.
