January 12, 2023 2023-0078 Italy announces new COVID-19 restrictions for travelers arriving from China Mainland The Italian government recently announced that most travelers arriving from China Mainland, including those transiting through Italy, must get tested for COVID-19 prior to departure and after arrival, irrespective of their nationality or COVID-19 vaccination status. Those who test positive for COVID-19 in Italy will be required to undergo self-isolation. These measures will stay in place until January 31 and may be extended at the authorities' discretion. Employers may inform impacted employees traveling from China Mainland of the new requirements to avoid delays or complications relating to travel to Italy.
