IRS releases Strategic Operating Plan detailing plans for next 10 years

The IRS announced (IR-2023-72) the publication of its Strategic Operating Plan, explaining how the agency plans to allocate funds over the next decade. According to the report, the IRS will focus on (1) rebuilding and strengthening its customer service activities, (2) adding workers to focus on filings from high-income individuals, large corporations and complex partnerships; and (3) updating outdated technology systems.
