Danish Government proposes to allow eligible third-country nationals to conduct short-term work in Denmark without work permits

In early May 2023, the Danish Government sent a proposal into hearing (i.e., for public consultation) to allow eligible third-country nationals to work in Denmark for a limited period without obtaining a Danish work permit. On 2 May 2023, the proposal was sent into hearing with relevant stakeholders, including Danish companies and government departments. The deadline for stakeholders to provide comments is 30 May 2023. It is not yet known when the proposal, if approved, will go into effect. If the proposal is adopted, nationals of third countries (i.e., countries located outside the EU and EEA) will be able to work in Denmark without obtaining a work permit for two separate periods of up to 15 days each (i.e., up to 30 days cumulatively) in a 180-day period.
