Bahrain's Interior Ministry announces online service for renewal of residency and work permits from outside Bahrain

On 3 September 2023, Bahrain's Interior Ministry Undersecretary for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs (NPRA) announced the introduction of a new service that allows individuals to renew their residency and work permits from outside Bahrain. According to the Interior Ministry Undersecretary for the NPRA, the new service is available to eligible foreign nationals working in commercial or government sectors, registered laborers and domestic workers. Individuals or their employers to whom the service applies can now apply to renew their: (a) residency permits via the National Portal of Bahrain, and (b) work permits using the Expatriate Management System or via official Labour Market Regularly Authority (LMRA) channels.
