Argentine National Executive Branch convenes Congress in extraordinary sessions from 26 December 2023 to 31 January 2024

  • Tax topics being discussed include bills to approve tax treaties with Japan, Luxembourg, China and Turkiye.
  • Developments regarding to these tax topics should be closely monitored.
 

The recently inaugurated Argentine Government convened Congress on 26 December 2023 in extraordinary sessions to discuss the following tax topics:

  • Draft "Personal Income Tax Law"
  • Bill to approve the Double Tax Treaty between Argentina and Japan, signed on 27 June 2019
  • Bill to approve the Double Tax Treaty between Argentina and Luxembourg, signed on 13 April 2019
  • Bill to approve the Double Tax Treaty between Argentina and China, signed on 2 December 2018
  • Bill to approve the Agreement for the Promotion and Reciprocal Protection of Investments between Argentina and United Arab Emirates, signed on 16 April 2018
  • Bill to approve the Double Tax Treaty between Argentina and Turkiye, signed on 1 December 2018
  • Consideration of International Treaties, Conventions and Agreements

Multinational companies with subsidiaries in Argentina should closely monitor the extraordinary sessions of Congress, as additional tax developments are expected.
