Indonesia introduces new Bridging Visa for eligible foreign nationals residing in Indonesia

Indonesia recently introduced a new Bridging Visa for eligible foreign nationals who are in Indonesia and seek to extend their stay or change their residence status. Applications for this new visa are expected to be accepted starting in May 2024. Bridging Visas will be available to holders of Visas on Arrival, Limited Stay Permits or Permanent Stay Permits whose current documents are due to expire and can no longer be renewed, and who have submitted applications for a new residence permit or change of status. Bridging Visas will allow holders to continue residing in Indonesia for up to 60 days after the expiry of their current document and cannot be extended. Holders of Bridging Visas will be authorized to engage in certain activities as determined by the Directorate General of Immigration. Further details are expected to be released in the upcoming months.
