08 July 2024 China announces non-Chinese nationals with Hong Kong or Macao permanent residency eligible for five-year China Mainland travel permit On 1 July 2024, China Mainland announced a new policy allowing non-Chinese nationals with permanent residency in Hong Kong or Macao to apply for China Mainland travel permits, which will facilitate business travel. The authorities will begin accepting applications for these permits on 10 July 2024. These travel permits will be valid for up to five years and allow holders to stay in China Mainland for up to 90 days per entry for various purposes, including business, investment or visiting family.
