Colombia extends deadline to obtain new residence permits until 31 October 2026

On 27 September 2024, Colombia extended the deadline for certain residence permit holders to obtain a new permit until 31 October 2026. Regulation 9316 of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which introduces this extension, impacts holders of residence permits issued before 21 October 2022. These individuals must obtain new permits from the Ministry before 31 October 2026 (regardless of their permit’s expiry date). They are no longer required to do so before 21 October 2024.
