26 November 2024 Denmark extends the Special Act on displaced persons from Ukraine until 17 March 2026 On 25 November 2024, the Danish parliament adopted a proposal to extend the Special Act on displaced persons from Ukraine ("Special Act") until 17 March 2026. Denmark's decision to extend the Special Act from March 2025 to March 2026 is in line with the European Commission's decision to extend the Temporary Protection Directive (TPD) for the protection of individuals fleeing the armed conflict in Ukraine. Individuals who hold Danish temporary residence permits pursuant to the Special Act are now eligible for an extension of their permits until 17 March 2026. The authorities are expected to automatically extend residence permits that have been granted pursuant to the Special Act and will release further details in the upcoming weeks.
