03 December 2024 UK publishes Statement of Changes to the immigration rules On 26 November 2024, the UK government published a Statement of Changes to the Immigration Rules, impacting Colombian nationals and individuals staying in the UK pursuant to the Ukraine Extension scheme, among others. UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) also confirmed that effective this date, all eligible non-European nationals are eligible to apply for an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA). Employers may review the entry requirements for Colombian employees and assist them with obtaining a visa. They may also assess whether foreign employees require an ETA to enter or transit through the UK and update their workforce policies (if required) ahead of the upcoming changes. A Tax Alert prepared by EY's People Advisory Services, and attached below, provides additional details. Document ID: 2024-2183 |
