Venezuelan nationals now eligible for two-year visas to regularize their status in Colombia

Effective 4 December 2024, Colombia began issuing new visas called "V — Visitante Especial" for qualifying Venezuelan nationals and their dependents who seek to regularize their immigration status in Colombia. The new visa is available to qualifying Venezuelan nationals and their eligible dependents (i.e., spouses and children) who entered Colombia before 4 December 2024 and are currently in Colombia without an appropriate immigration status. This visa allows its holders to reside in Colombia for up to two years and grants them work authorization. After the two-year period, individuals are required to apply for another visa category.
