10 January 2025 Proposed regulations issued on IRC Section 45W credit for commercial clean vehicles The IRS and Treasury Department on January 10, 2025, released proposed regulations (REG-123525-23) with guidance on the IRC Section 45W credit for qualified commercial clean vehicles, which was created by the Inflation Reduction Act. The proposed regulations would provide definitions along with rules for determining the credit amount, whether the vehicle qualifies, interaction with other credits and reporting.
