Trump administration executive action alert | New tariffs on Canada, Mexico and China

On 1 February, President Trump leveraged his emergency authorities and announced new tariffs on all imports from Canada, Mexico and China. The executive orders implementing the tariffs state that the reason for the tariffs is to address the “public health crisis and national emergency” due to the flow of fentanyl and drug trafficking into the US from Canada, Mexico and China.
