India suspends all visa services and Indian visas issued to Pakistani nationals

The government of India has suspended all visa services and revoked all existing visas issued to Pakistani nationals. The government also announced travel advisories for Indian nationals, following the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, a town in Jammu and Kashmir. On 24 April 2025, India announced additional measures impacting Pakistani nationals. A day earlier, India suspended the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Visa Exemption Scheme (SVES) for Pakistani nationals and downsized the strength of the High Commissions. India has additionally suspended all visa services for Pakistani nationals with immediate effect. All existing valid visas issued by India to Pakistani nationals will be revoked with effect from 27 April 2025 and medical visas issued to Pakistani nationals will now be valid only until 29 April 2025. All Pakistani nationals currently staying in India must leave India before the amended expiry of their visas.
