European Commission announces new ETIAS fee

The European Commission recently announced an updated processing fee related to the European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS). The updated fee will apply once ETIAS goes into effect, which is expected in the last quarter of 2026. The ETIAS system aims to facilitate travel for visa-exempt non-EU nationals while mitigating irregular migration to the Schengen Area. Visa-exempt non-EU nationals will be required to complete an online registration form prior to travel. The system will process applications automatically, providing travelers with a decision within minutes.
