22 August 2025 Malaysia digitizes several processes related to Employment Pass and Professional Visit Pass applications Malaysia's Expatriate Services Division (ESD) recently digitized the company interview and "document sighting" processes in an effort to simplify and modernize the Employment Pass (EP) and Professional Visit Pass (PVP) application processes. Historically, these processes have been completed in person at the ESD's offices. They may now be conducted online via the ESD online system. Where applicable, the designated company contact person is required to attend the appointment (for an interview or "document sighting" request). EP and PVP applicants themselves are not required to attend. Third-party representatives or agents, even if listed in the Letter of Undertaking as authorized representatives, are not permitted to attend the appointments on behalf of the company but may participate as supporting parties. A Tax Alert prepared by EY's People Advisory Services, and attached below, provides additional details. Document ID: 2025-1737 |
