28 August 2025 Qatar announces new on-arrival medical examination requirement for nationals of the Philippines On 20 August 2025, Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health announced that nationals of the Philippines who seek to reside in the country are now required to undergo a medical examination upon arrival. Prior to the latest development, nationals of the Philippines entering Qatar on residence visas were required to complete a mandatory medical examination at an approved Qatar Visa Center in their home country prior to travel. Pursuant to the new announcement, a second medical screening is now required upon arrival in Qatar. This examination, conducted at the Medical Commission, aims to ensure that new entrants are free of communicable diseases before their residence permits are issued. The examination is part of Qatar’s broader public health strategy. A Tax Alert prepared by EY's People Advisory Services, and attached below, provides additional details. Document ID: 2025-1767 |
