     This week's tax news from the Americas

  • USTR extends through 29 November 2025, exclusions for products otherwise subject to Section 301 tariffs
    In a notice published 28 August 2025, the Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) extended until 29 November 2025 exclusions from the Section 301 tariffs for 178 products. The exclusions cover certain industrial equipment, electric vehicles, batteries, critical minerals, semiconductors and solar cells, among other things. This decision follows prior notices in which the USTR modified actions to exclude certain products from additional duties.
