Argentina implements procedural changes that impact issuing of provisional residence certificates

On 3 October 2025, the Argentine immigration authorities implemented a procedural change that impacts the issuance of the Certificado de Residencia Precaria (i.e., provisional residence certificate). This certificate allows foreign nationals to remain in Argentina and lawfully engage in certain activities (e.g., work for a local employer in roles involving technical or business tasks) while their immigration applications are being processed.
