03 December 2025 Ireland introduces temporary travel measure for IRP renewal applicants On 2 December 2025, the Irish immigration authorities announced a temporary initiative to facilitate travel during the Christmas period. This measure addresses delays in processing Irish Residence Permit (IRP) renewals for individuals who submitted renewal applications before their IRP card expired. The Immigration Service Delivery (ISD) introduced a Travel Confirmation Notice to enable international travel for individuals who are awaiting the issuance of a renewed IRP card. This initiative allows impacted individuals to travel using a recently expired IRP card, provided the renewal application was submitted before the card expired. A Tax Alert prepared by EY's People Advisory Services, and attached below, provides additional details. Document ID: 2025-2411 |
