Kuwait announces automatic extension of visit visas and absence permits

The Kuwait Ministry of Interior (MOI) has announced a one-month automatic extension for all visit visas expiring on or after 28 February 2026. Additionally, residents currently outside Kuwait who have exceeded their permitted absence period, will receive an automatic three-month absence permit. Both extensions are issued electronically and are exempt from any in-person procedures, fees or penalties. According to the MOI, both measures may be extended further as the regional situation evolves and individuals should monitor official channels for ongoing updates.
