Belgium increases Long-Stay (D) Visa fees

Effective 1 July 2026, Belgium increased the government fee applicable to Long-Stay (D) Visa applications to EUR250. The revised fee applies to all Type D Visa applications submitted on or after this date and must be paid at the time of application submission. The Type D Visa is generally required by third-country nationals intending to reside in Belgium for more than 90 days, including individuals traveling for employment, family reunification, study, or other long-term residence purposes. The increased fee forms part of the costs associated with obtaining authorization to enter Belgium for long-term residence and must be paid to the relevant Belgian consular post when the application is submitted. Applicants should ensure that the correct fee is paid, as underpayment may result in delays in processing or rejection of the visa application.
